Creating a Replay
A replay (a Test) is one manual session over historical bars: you advance time, decide, click, and the app records every action so the results are traceable to your decisions rather than to a backtest assumption.
Starting a test
Press Start New Test and pick the settings for the session:
- Dataset — any dataset already in your Data Library. Datasets are reused, not copied, so several tests can share one import.
- Replay timeframe — the timeframe the chart shows. If the dataset's base is finer (M1 or ticks), the engine still walks the base series underneath, so intrabar events are not lost.
- Start point — the first bar of the session, in UTC.
- Starting balance and spread — either a fixed spread in pips you choose, or the real recorded spread when the dataset is a tick dataset.
- Prop-firm rules — daily loss limit, max drawdown, target, min days, consistency rule, trading-hours filter, end-of-day auto-close. Leave them off for a plain replay.
The test records the dataset version, the window origin and the flags you chose. That provenance travels with the results, so a saved test is reproducible.
While the replay runs
The replay bar drives time:
- Step one bar, or play continuously.
- Speeds from very slow to fast-forward; the simulation is deterministic, so speed never changes fills.
- Jump forward or back by a fixed number of bars, or jump to a date.
- Beat mode — a fixed number of candles per day, so a six-month session fits into one sitting without skipping days.
- Live clock and a session countdown for people who want the wall-clock cadence instead of pure bar cadence.
Rewind is instant: the engine keeps a snapshot every 5000 candles, so rewinding does not re-simulate from the beginning.
Ending a test
Closing a test produces the results view: the MT5-style results grid (deals, orders, positions), equity and drawdown charts, and the journal with your tags and notes. Statistics are computed from the fills your actions produced at simulated prices, including spread.
You can reopen a finished test later, and the journal and screenshots of a position can be exported as shareable PNG or HTML cards.
